Assisting the Elder

Neighbor helping Neighbor

A service program

Many of us have needed a helping hand at some point—a ride to pick up/drop off a car for repair; a ride to Marta station or a doctor’s appointment; prescriptions or groceries picked up, a meal prepared or a yard mowed while recuperating.

Members of the Four Seasons Womens’ Club have volunteered to be there when a neighbor is in need.  It is a way to give back to the neighborhood we love.  A list is maintained of who is available to do what.  All a neighbor needs to do is contact the committee chairperson with what would be helpful, what would make that day easier.  She will go through the volunteer list and find someone to help.  Email “blasts” will not be used to be respectful of privacy.

If you are interested in being a volunteer, here is how it works:

  • The list of services offered is also the list of services you can volunteer to do.

  •  When a call for help comes in, the first name on the list is called.

  • If he/she can do it, great; if not, the next person is called.

  • Once someone has volunteered, his/her name goes to the bottom of that service's list, and so on.

Anyone can volunteer to help and anyone can ask for assistance.  You do NOT need to be a member of the Womens’ Club or of the HOA for either—and men and children are welcome as volunteers, too!  So, if interested in volunteering, please let me know where you can help.

Most important, PLEASE, don’t hesitate to call if you need assistance!!!
