Pool & Party Info
Pool rules
1. Use of the pool is restricted to members in good standing and their guests, as set forth in the By Laws. Members must pay annual dues before being allowed to use the pool. Guests may not live within three miles of Four Seasons. No more than eight guests per member-household are permitted without requesting Party privileges (see Party Rules).
2. No swimming is permitted unless a lifeguard is on duty except with a signed “Swim at Your Own Risk” release form on file with the Club.
3. Lifeguards have complete charge of the pool area and the authority to enforce the rules. Lifeguards need to focus on safety of swimmers in the pool. They do not assume the role of parents if a parent is present. If a lifeguard notes behavior that is unacceptable by a child and a parent is present, it is that parent’s responsibility to enforce the lifeguard’s instructions. Lifeguards are not responsible for areas outside the pool.
4. Children under nine years of age must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. Children nine years of age or older must be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted and without stopping or touching the bottom or walls of the pool, or they may not be left unaccompanied by an adult. The lifeguard on duty shall be the sole judge of competency in this regard.
5. An adult member may request a ten-minute adult swim at ten minutes before any hour during specified pool hours when a lifeguard is on duty. All children under the age of 18 must be completely out of the pool during an adult swim.
6. All swimmers must be in proper bathing attire. Children that are not potty-trained must wear leak-proof diapers. Adults who change children’s diapers at the pool should take the dirty diapers home- -do not dispose of them in waste containers at the pool or in pool restroom.
7. Running and horseplay are not permitted.
8. Balls (other than small, light beach balls), Frisbees, etc. are not permitted in the pool.
9. Small rafts/floats and noodles are permitted if the pool is not crowded, but these items may not be used as safety devices by non-swimmers.
10. If the diving board is in use, the diving well (the small portion of the pool to the west of the main part of the pool) should be kept free of swimmers.
11. No glass is permitted in the pool compound at any time.
12. No fishing equipment is allowed anywhere on Bath & Racquet Club property except on or around the pond.
13. Roller blades, skates, skateboards and bikes are not permitted on Club property with the exception of the parking lot. Motorized vehicles such as go-carts and scooters are not allowed on Club property at all.
14. No animals are permitted in the pool or tennis compounds.
15. Unauthorized persons are not allowed inside the A-frame.
16. No littering. Each person is responsible for properly disposing of trash.
17. Furniture and other obstacles must remain a minimum of four feet from the edge of the pool.
18. Food should not be consumed on the pool deck.
19. The penalties imposed on persons disobeying pool rules or lifeguard’s instruction are as follows:
20. First offense – warning
21. Second offense – time out from pool for 30 minutes
22. Third offense – expulsion from the pool for the balance of the day
23. Fourth offense – one week suspension from the pool
Failure to observe the rules subsequently will result in termination of the violator’s pool privileges for the balance of the swim season.
Members having complaints about the operation of the pool should submit them in writing to the Pool Chairperson with a copy to the Club President. Members having complaints about the performance of the lifeguards should submit them in writing to the Lifeguard Chairperson with a copy to the Club President. In any case, prompt attention will be given to complaints and corrective action taken as deemed necessary by the President and/or Board of Directors.
Swim-At-Your-Own-Risk Policy
From the opening of the pool season in the Spring until the closing of the pool season in the Fall , each day is divided into three time categories:
(1) Regular Hours; (2) Before and After Hours; and (3) Prohibited Hours. Each category contains different use requirements and restrictions, set forth below.
Regular Hours. Normally noon - 6:00 pm Monday – Saturday, and 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Sunday.
FSBRC Members (both Full and Patron guests) may use the pool during these hours if they have signed to certify receipt and understanding of both the Pool Rules and the Swim-At-Your-Own-Risk Policy and delivered acknowledgement to FSBRC Membership Committee Chair. Lifeguards will normally be on duty during these hours. However, it is the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian of any minor child to verify that a lifeguard is on duty before leaving a minor child at the pool facility. Under no circumstances may a child age 10 or younger be left at the pool without a parent or guardian, and under no circumstances may a child over the age of 10 and under the age of 18 be left at the pool without a parent or guardian unless that child has passed the swim test.
Before Hours and After Hours. Normally 6:00 am – noon Monday - Saturday and 6:00 am – 1:00 pm on Sunday and 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm Monday - Sunday. Lifeguards will normally not be on duty during these hours. Pool use during these hours is restricted to Full Members who are either (a) over the age of 18 and have signed the agreements to comply with Pool Rules and Swim-At-Your-Own-Risk Policy (one per family) and signed a Pool Facilities Release form (one per individual over the age of 18) and delivered it to FSBRC President, or (b) children under the age of 18 who are under the direct personal supervision of an individual qualified under section (a), above. Full Members qualified to swim during these times will be given the numeric code to unlock the pool gate, and if they chose to enter the premises for any reason including swimming, will do so at their own risk.
Prohibited Hours. The hours between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. Entry onto the pool grounds during these hours is strictly prohibited.
Specific opening and closing dates will be announced by the FSBRC Board.
Limits on pool use by Patron Members are specified in the Membership Agreement. The numeric code will not be given by a recipient to anyone else.

For private use of the facilities during regular pool hours, a two-week minimum, written notice to all members is required of the person holding the party. This notice will specify that a private party is being held and will include the date and time of the party. A sign posted at the pool 2 weeks prior is adequate notice.
A security deposit of $120.00 for members and $150.00 for non-members is due at the time of application. Two separate checks covering the fee and security deposit should be made out to the Four Seasons Bath & Racquet Club and delivered with the application to the Lifeguard Chairperson. The security deposit will be forfeited in the event of any damage to property, equipment, or facilities. Should repair or replacement costs exceed the security deposit, the adult making the party arrangements shall be responsible for any balance. In addition, $60.00 of the security deposit shall be forfeited if the party host fails to clean up the pool compound, replace furniture and/or empty trash into the proper containers. The Lifeguard Chairperson or the pool Chairperson shall be the sole judge of security deposit issues.
At least one lifeguard must be employed for the event and paid at the going rate. For parties including ten or more under the age of 18, two lifeguards are required. Payment in cash is due at the end of the party.
An event liability release form must be filled out, signed, and delivered to the Lifeguard Chairperson with the party application.
Non-Private Parties (hosted by Club Members, Only)

For more than eight guests, a $30.00 fee will be assessed. In either case, application must be made in writing two weeks in advance with the Lifeguard Chairperson.

A non-private party beginning before lifeguard hours and/or continuing after lifeguard hours must comply with all rules for private parties.
An event liability release form must be filled out, signed, and delivered to the Lifeguard Chairperson with the party application. Revised: Feb. 2005
